I read this book cover to cover before going to Israel to try to prepare for my trip. I have to say that I didn't get too much out of it. I am reading it again now that I have returned from my trip and I am enjoying it far more. Somehow, when I read it before I went, much of it just didn't stick with me.I like that the author discusses historical sites with a Biblical view. That's important to me.I will say that I was and am very disappointed that the Kindle version does not include any pictures. I'm not sure why the copyright didn't allow for them to be used on the Kindle version but it took a lot away from the book, in my opinion. An excellent book, both for the traveler and the believer. It's definitely written from an Evangelical Christian perspective (i'm guessing Baptists will love this book!), which I as a Catholic found a bit overbearing. Nonetheless, the author's heart and love make this an indispensable guide to the Holy Land. It was the best book by far for my Jerusalem and Bethlehem voyages.
